I wrote an article for the IGDA Newsletter trying to better address the security concerns in MMO trade systems I discussed earlier this year; even if you read the previous blog post, I think the new one is worth reading by itself. Thanks to Scott Jennings, Peter Harkins, Ammon Lauritzen, Jeramey Crawford, and John Henderson for feedback on earlier drafts. I wasn't able to incorporate all of their feedback, but the article is better for everything I did include.
EDIT: boy is my face red, I did not include John Henderson. My apologies.

New Blog!
Go ahead and leave feedback about how much you hate the new site, hated the old site, hate me, etc. here. I look forward to it. :-)

Can they just pick a name?
I just noticed the LOGIN '09 Areas of Interest section - I looked before and either missed them, or they weren't up yet. Ever since the beginning of last year I've had a collection of slowly-evolving session ideas, and it looks like a lot of them fall into the areas of interest this time around. I must be ahead of the curve. :-P
I read from Joe Ludwig that they were accepting session proposals starting Friday, but apparently that's changed since the main site now says November 24.

Nobody else did it
...so I went ahead and submitted the Dungeon Runners in-game credits to MobyGames.com. Getting the credits put in was a tad rushed, so we weren't able to credit everyone as well as we should. My apologies, it's hard enough to do due diligence and fact-checking on credits when you aren't rushed by deadlines. :-(

ncanson is now ansonthegnome
Well before Dungeon Runners, I was using "Anson" for various game-related things - but the genesis of the name is, oddly enough, in gnomes. In honor of the Bling variety of gnomes, but also to harken back to those earlier times when most of the games I played were of the pen-and-paper variety, I've got a new name. Go me. :-)
